XIX Symposium
of the International Dostoevsky Society

The XIX Symposium of the International Dostoevsky Society will take place between June 15 and 20, 2026 at the Centro Cultural de la Cooperación, located in the center of the city of Buenos Aires.

OFFICIAL LANGUAGES OF THE SYMPOSIUM
Russian, English, Spanish, Portuguese.
Each speaker will have 20 minutes followed by 5 minutes for comments.

The Symposium will have two central axes:

SHORT FILM COMPETITION
The International Dostoevsky Society will organize a short film competition (maximum length: 5 minutes) on Dostoevsky topics. Details will be provided from March 1, 2025.

We would like to inform you that the Argentine Dostoevsky Society has reached an agreement with two hotels located very close to the venue of the 19th IDS Symposium in Buenos Aires (the first two are almost right across from it). IMPORTANT DATES

Acceptance of abstracts: October 1, 2025.
Program presentation: January 15, 2026.
NUMBER OF SPEAKERS
The number of speakers will be limited to around 150.
Current IDS or ADS (Argentine Dostoevsky Society) membership is required.
REGISTRATION COST
Speakers: $100.
Students (with certificate): $50.
CULTURAL PROGRAM
On June 20th the Organizing Committee is planning a one-day trip to the city of Colonia, Uruguay.
Details will be provided from March 1, 2025.
HOTELS, FOOD
There is an endless supply of hotels and restaurants in the vicinity of the Cultural Center of Cooperation (Avenida Corrientes 1543).
The organization plans to offer a welcome lunch on the first day of the Symposium. In the morning there will be coffee and facturas (buns). Coffee and soft drinks will be available throughout the day.
On the last day, a closing dinner will be held at a centrally located hotel in Buenos Aires.
